The organisers of the Light Before Christmas would like to thank all their sponsors including the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust and Universal Fireworks for the fantastic display, the Creative Foundation for supporting the Artists' Tree Competition and the funding of the metal tree, Ed from Eclipse Audio for all his technical installations on the night, Patrick Schroeter from Pigmillion Designs who made the metal tree, the schools taking part, the children and adults in the parade, Fete Accompli for the schools lantern workshops, all the artists that made trees for the competition, Chimaera Gallery for running a tree making workshop, John Barber from the Town Centre Management for the venue and support leading up and during the event, Shepway District Council, Folkestone Harbour Company for the use of their land during the firework display, the staff and students at University Centre Folkestone that either took part or helped with the organisation of the event, the creative businesses that took part in the Art Market, the Whole World Cafe distribuitng ballot papers, all the stewards, the police, St Johns Ambulance and of course anyone else that came and participated in the event. We would also like to extend thanks to Santa for turning up and taking part in the parade.
Many thanks to the RNLI for attending and collecting at the event, we are pleased to announce that they raised a grand total of £110 on the night.
The winner of the Artists' Made Christmas Tree Competition is:Romney Marsh 'Lookers Tree' made by children and adults led by Annie Begley at the Kent Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre, New Romney.
